Hudson River Community Credit Union Raises Funds for Cystic Fibrosis
HRCCU recently presented a check for $449 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a result of their Jeans for Charity Program for April, May and June. On the first Friday of each month, credit union employees can donate $5 to wear jeans for the day and also accept donations from members visitin the branches for the benefit of a designated charity. HRCCU's donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be used to help funding for research to control and one day cure Cystic Fibrosis.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit donor-supported organization that assures the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that targets certain organs in the body, particularly the lungs and pancreas.

Hudson River Community Credit Union Holds A Retirement Party For Board President
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) held a retirement party for Donald Briner, former Board President, on June 30th at Mollie's Mason Jar, Hadley, NY. Briner has served on the Board of Directors for over 32 years. HRCCU, along with Briner's family and friends, celebrated the evening by honoring him for his many years of service with the credit union.

Hudson River Community Credit Union Awards $5,000 in College Scholarships
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) is pleased to announce the winners of their 2010 College Scholarship contest and their Making Life Better Scholarship contest. Each of the following youth members will receive a $1,000 scholarship award: Eric Brenner, Shenendehowa High School; Christina Matriccino, Hudson Falls Senior High School; Arinne Stiller, Queensbury High School; and Laura Uhlig, Academy of the Holy Names. Robert Gendron, Whitehall High School, will receive $1,000 for the Making Life Better Scholarship Award.
Eligible candidates had to be high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university in Fall 2010 and be HRCCU members-in-good-standing. For the College Scholarship contest, applicants were judged on their academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, honors and awards, employment experience, length of HRCCU membership and essay question. For the Making Life Better Scholarship Award, members were judged on their community service involvement and essay question.
The HRCCU College Scholarship Program began in 1994 to promote and foster the educational endeavors of the credit union’s young members. To date, 54 area students have benefi tted from HRCCUs College Scholarship Program with awards totaling $41,500.
HRCCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned and governed by its members. Profits made by the credit union are returned to the members in the form of higher rates on savings, lower rates on loans, and low fees. HRCCU serves 20,000 members and has five branches: 312 Palmer Ave., Corinth; 160 Broad St., Glens Falls; 3762 Burgoyne Ave., Hudson Falls and 35 Niver St., Cohoes. Hudson River Community Credit Union Announces Board Changes
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) has announced the appointment of Stuart Field as President, Charles Pasquarell, III as Vice President and Thomas Uncher as Director of the credit union’s board of directors. Stuart Field replaces Donald Briner who recently retired from the board after serving as President since 2003.
