SCAM ALERT- HRCCU Visa® debit/credit card compromise
HRCCU has been informed of the compromise of some of our VISA® Credit Card information from purchases made at a “brick & mortar” merchant from June 1 – November 30, 2011. This incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
To ensure the security of your HRCCU VISA Credit Card account, new credit cards are being issued. You will receive your new card in approximately 7 – 10 business days. To activate your new card, please follow the instructions included with the card. Once activated, please destroy your old card. Realizing that some transactions you have made with your card may still be outstanding, we will be blocking your old card effective December 19, 2011. If you wish to block purchases made with your credit card prior to December 19, please contact Jennifer Gilbert at (518)654-9028 ext. 2241 or 1 (800) 824-0700
ext. 2241.
Your new VISA credit card will carry a new 16 digit account number, expiration date and PIN (Personal Identification Number). When activating your new card, please stay on the line to select your PIN number.
If you have used your HRCCU VISA credit card to set-up automatic payments for bills and other items, we recommend contacting those companies as soon as possible to supply them with your new card information so that there is no interruption in the payments for these items/services.
Please be aware that you will not have to worry about paying for unauthorized charges. Your card is backed by VISA’s Zero Liability Protection Policy*. In the meantime, you may take steps to protect yourself even further by double checking your monthly statements or registering for access to your account online at https://onlineaccessplus.com/oa/hrccu/. If you see any unusual activity, please contact us directly or call 1-866-291-2973.
Hudson River Community Credit Union takes your account security and privacy very seriously and will keep you informed should the need arise. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
