Volunteer with HRCCU

As a member-owned financial cooperative, Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) is much different from that of a governmental entity, a large for-profit financial institution or a corporation. Our volunteers play a vital role in helping us remain focused on serving the best interests of our members and communities.

Below is a little more helpful information:

• Currently available volunteer positions at HRCCU: Supervisory Committee member.
• All Board and Supervisory Committee members volunteer their time to participate in the workings of their Credit Union. They are not paid for the work that they perform on behalf of HRCCU.
• Directors and Supervisory Committee also are limited by regulation and cannot have business loans with the credit union, cannot be compensated and must have loans approved by the Board of Directors.

What does the Supervisory Committee do?

• The Supervisory Committee is appointed by the Board annually.
• The Supervisory Committee is responsible for ensuring that HRCCU Management meet required financial reporting objectives and establish practices and procedures to safeguard members’ assets. The Supervisory Committee typically meets for approximately 1 hour every 6-8 weeks at 5:00 p.m..
• Supervisory Committee meetings include the review of Credit Union audit reports, internal testing reports and management’s responses to open audit items.
• The Supervisory Committee is a great place to learn about the Credit Union!
