Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU), as a local not-for-profit credit union, is dedicated to bettering the lives of its members, families, and community.

Part of this mission involves giving back to the local community in a variety of ways, including drive-thru food drives, donating to first responders, and hosting fundraiser events.

Youth Center Donations

This year, HRCCU has donated $20,000 to support local youth centers in the Capital Region.

Recipients included the Saratoga Regional YMCA Corinth Branch After School Enrichment Program and the Glens Falls Area Youth Center. Each location received $10,000 to help support their efforts in the community.

“This year has been a challenging year for so many families and we are humbled to once again provide financial assistance to organizations dedicated to enriching the lives of children in our communities,” said Sue Commanda, CEO, HRCCU. “The coronavirus pandemic has presented so many new challenges to parents and families, so providing crucial equipment and supplies to keep these programs running during these uncertain times is more critical than ever.”

Give4Kids Fundraising Efforts

This donation is in line with previous annual contributions made by HRCCU to youth centers in the area as part of its Give4Kids fundraising efforts.

Over the past eight years, HRCCU has raised more than $150,000 for local youth centers within the communities it serves. Donations have been used to purchase new equipment, supplies, and provide scholarships for students.

HRCCU had originally planned to host an inflatable Fun Run to raise funds for local youth centers on September 19, 2020 at the Washington County Fairgrounds but cancelled the event due to safety concerns relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event has since been rescheduled to September 11, 2021.
