With the rise of COVID-19, employee health and wellness has become more important than ever in the workplace. That is why we at HRCCU are proud to announce that the Credit Union has been named a 2021 Healthiest Employer by the Albany Business Review for the third straight year in a row!
The 24 companies honored this year as Albany Business Review’s Healthiest Employers are among the many companies that have spent the past year focusing on efforts to enhance the health and well-being of their employees. This year’s awards program honors companies in the Albany region whose wellness programming and benefits go above and beyond the status quo.
Healthiest Employers is sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York.
HRCCU’s Employee Health & Wellness Goals
Working to cultivate a work environment and culture that is healthy, fun, and results-oriented is something that sets HRCCU apart from the rest.
We have built an enjoyable workplace for our staff at our Operations Center, complete with a full kitchen/break area, fitness facility, and outdoor patio area. We also bring in nutritionists and massage therapists periodically to help answer questions and keep our employees healthy both physically and mentally.
“At HRCCU, we believe it’s incredibly important for us to provide our employees with the resources they need to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Sue Commanda, CEO. “Our company mission is to improve the well-being of our members, but we are also committed to improving the health and well-being of our employees. We know that happy employees make happy members and our multi-dimensional wellness program helps us achieve these goals while providing access to offerings that support our employees physical, emotional and social well-being.”
Determining Healthiest Employers
Healthiest employer winners are determined by the Healthiest Employers LLC, a data and research company.
It measures wellness and benefits factors using the Springbuk analytics platform and report its findings.
The assessment scores companies on their wellness program’s culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.
Companies with an office of at least five employees were eligible in the following Capital Region counties: Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington.
HRCCU, along with the other winners, were celebrated on August 5 at a virtual event.
